Placements at NUJS: Class of 2018 Scores Highest Among All NLUs

The Campus Recruitment Committee (CRC) of the Class of 2018 is proud to confirm that NUJS has once again recorded the highest number of placements across all National Law Universities (NLUs) in the country for its graduating Class of 2018. A total number of 84 students who partook in the recruiment process (from the graduating class of 113 students) were placed either by the CRC or through offers outside the CRC recruitment process [as illustrated by the tables below]. Among the students who were placed through the campus recruitment process, the average annual packages offered by foreign law firms ranged from INR 42-46 lakhs, top domestic law firms ranged from INR 15-18 lakhs while the students joining companies in the role of in-house counsels received packages ranging from INR 12-14 lakhs. Notably, the students in the Class of 2018 have also opted for a range of diverse career paths. A substantial number of students opted out of recruitment process in order to prepare for civil and judicial services examinations while a number of them have opted to pursue higher studies in foreign universities. This performance by the students of the Class of 2018 is a reflection of the continued commitment to excellence which NUJS has strived to maintain over the years. Such an achievement would not have been possible without the incredible efforts of all the CRC members, past and present, and the support of our current faculty advisor Prof. (Dr.) Anirban Mazumdar along with the previous faculty advisor, Ms. Vaneeta Pattnaik, and all the other faculty members and administrative staff at NUJS. We would also like to acknowledge our indebtedness to our alumni network whose fantastic support and guidance ensured these results. The CRC team of 2017-18 comprised of the following students: Aditya Sarmah, Arjun Agarwal, Farhan Shehab Umar, Keshav Pareek (Coordinator), Kshitij Maheshwari, Pranav Rajesh Sethi, Samarth Sharma, Sammanika Rawat, Sankalp Srivastava (Coordinator) and Venkatesh Renganathan. Coordinator Sankalp Srivastava added to the press release: "It has been a stellar performance by our batch as is evident from the recruitment numbers. I would like to acknowledge the role played by the CRC of the Class of 2017 in guiding and advising us. The work of the CRC was made easier on account of the healthy and active engagement by the students in the recruitment process which started with the incredible pre-placement offers. The CRC itself comprised of some fantastic individuals and I am proud of the fact that we say that our inner workings were largely based on unanimous consent of all members at almost all times. I once again thank the students of our class for reposing their trust in us and wish them the very best for their future endeavors."
