Student Juridical Association
Scholarships
NUJS, Kolkata is supported by the money it receives in tuition fees from academic programmes like distant learning programmes, research and consulting initiatives, and other related activities. The costs necessary to deliver the academic programmes offered on-campus are not covered by the student fees. Thus, the University provides financial aid to all students enrolled in academic programmes offered on campus.

Academic performance during the admissions process is a determining factor in a student's admittance to NUJS. The university has enacted an inclusiveness strategy to guarantee that students from all social, linguistic, and economic backgrounds receive a demanding and transformative education from across India. The applicant's financial situation is not taken into consideration throughout the admissions process. In addition, the university is dedicated to helping every student accepted into an academic programme, regardless of financial restrictions, continue their studies. The University's strategy for fulfilling this goal is outlined in this Financial Aid Policy.

Merit Cum Means
The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (“NUJS”) is committed to ensuring that students from all financial backgrounds have an equal opportunity to undertake professional legal education. It is acknowledged that lack of substantial financial means can be an impediment for many motivated and meritorious students who wish to pursue a career in law. Financial aid is of utmost necessity to ensure accessibility to legal education for those who would otherwise be unable to bear the financial burden attached.
NUJS is dedicated to create a level playing field for students, in which economic privilege shall not be a determinant in relation to the opportunity to learn. In pursuance of this understanding, NUJS strives to provide financial assistance to students from low income families enrolled in the University through the NUJS Merit-cum-Means Scholarship. The grant of scholarship is guided by the NUJS Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Policy, 2019 (link to the policy).
