Further adding to this year's excellent tally of acceptances at premier global institutes, Arindrajit Basu of the Class of 2017 has been offered admission to the LLM programs simultaneously at University of Cambridge, Graduate Institute-Geneva, University of Leiden, London School of Economics and University College London (University of London).
Basu shall be joining one of these universities for a Masters in Public International Law, which has long been his area of interest. On being asked about his institute of preference, he replied "It's a toss up between Cambridge and Geneva. Since both of them have different advantages, I need to speak to people to figure it out."
The Law Faculty at Cambridge offers a world-renowned, internationally respected LLM programme. The one year taught course offers highly qualified and intellectually outstanding students the opportunity of pursuing their legal studies at an advanced level in a challenging environment. Similarly, the LL.M. in International Law at Geneva is a one-year postgraduate degree course that provides advanced, comprehensive and practical training in international law. Students on the LL.M. Programme gain exposure to world-renowned faculty, benefit from being at the heart of international legal affairs in Geneva and share ideas with other participants who come from an array of different legal backgrounds and perspectives.
A renowned quizzer, debater and adjudicator in the Indian college circuit, Basu is also a frequent contributor on international issues to the Economic and Political Weekly, Observer Research Foundation, the Statesman and the Wire and has multiple academic publications on matters of international policy in reputed journals.
We congratulate him on this phenomenal achievement and wish him the very best for all his future endeavours.
