NUJS emerges victorious in the prestigious IIMC Colombo, 2022 Investor-State Mediation Competition

We are delighted to announce that the team comprising Laksh Kawatra, Adya Bajpai, Tanish Arora and Sahaj Mathur has emerged as the Winning Negotiating Team in the prestigious IIMC Colombo, 2022, the world’s first-ever Investor-State Mediation Competition. They are third-year students at the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata, and were the only Indian team to qualify for the outrounds. Laksh and Adya represented the team in the semifinals against the City University of Hong Kong, and in the Grand Finals against the National University of Singapore, emerging victorious against both. The team also faced off against the City University of Hong Kong, Charles University, the University of Nigeria, and Allameh Tabataba’i in the four preliminary rounds. They were coached by Ms. Sushriti Tripathi and Mr. Akshit Goyal throughout. The competition was organized by the Moot Court Bench, Sri Lanka’s fully integrated legal advocacy training platform, in collaboration with the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNICTRAL). With participation from universities from more than 30 countries, India’s WBNUJS team emerged as the winners of this prestigious Mediation Competition.
