In another phenomenal mooting achievement, the university team comprising of Sreeja Sengupta, Sumit Gupta, Divyansh Sharma, Eisha Kalra and Shubham Choudhary has emerged as the winner at the South Asia Regional Rounds of the FDI International Arbitration Moot, 2019.
To add to the brilliant feat, the team bagged the best claimant memo award, and Sreeja Sengupta emerged as the Best Speaker in the finals!
The FDI International Arbitration moot spans approximately six months each year and is conducted in two phases with an aim of inculcating in students, academicians and practitioners a practical understanding of investor/state arbitration issues. The South Asian regional rounds this year were organised in Delhi by Kachwaha and partners.
The team that finishes at the top of the New Delhi rounds advances to the Global rounds and receives financial assistance from the Thomas Wälde Fund instituted with an aim to support the participation of developing countries in the competition. The team representing NUJS won the South Asia regional rounds and has now qualified for the global orals that will be held from the 7th to 10th of November, 2019 in Miami, Florida.
We congratulate all the members of the winning team and the Moot Court Society for what has been yet another brilliant mooting achievement and wish the team all the best for their performance at the Global oral rounds.
