NUJS emerges as a finalist in the GNLU Debate'18

In yet another significant debating achievement, the university team comprising of Tanmai Shukla(Class of 2019) and Jalaj Pandey(Class of 2019) emerged as the finalists of the GNLU Debate’18. The debate was held in the Gujarat National Law University between the 31st August to 2nd September 2018.


The GNLU debate’18 was organized by the GNLU Debating society and followed the British Parliamentary format of debating. It aimed to provide a platform for participants to develop skills and confidence in public speaking, thoughtful argumentation and analytical problem solving. The tournament also brings in pan India and international participation and adjudication where participation is not restricted to current college students in the lieu of enhancing the debating experience.


Apart from this, Jalaj Pandey won the award for being the ‘Best Speaker’ of the tournament. The team comprising of Shubrojyoti Mookherjee (Class of 2021) and Harsh Lahiri (Class of 2021) made it into the Semi Finals and the team comprising of Kanishk Garg (Class of 2022) and Abishek Sankar (Class of 2022) made it into the quarter finals of the tournament.
